Hello World. I hope your having a great day!

[ START RANT ]

Tom & JerryI hate SpongeBob SquarePants. Actually I hate most modern day cartoons. None of them seem to be as good as the cartoons I grew up with as a kid. I’m talking Loony Toons, Tom & Jerry, Smurfs, others. Even now I find myself watching old Loony Toons and laughing. But I can honestly say i have never once laughed at SpongeBob SquarePants.

It’s like know one who makes cartoons for kids now are trying. I have seen kids sitting in font of a t.v. watching what passes for cartoons these days and their scared. They aren’t even enjoying what they are watching. It’s really depressing.

I find myself picking up DVD’s of old cartoons I used to watch as a kid so that when and if I have children some day they have something worth watching. Rather then this SpungeBob SquareCrap.

  1. Aye men brother! Cartoons today suck. If your getting DVD’s of the classics make sure you keep them around for your niece. Part of the problem I think is cartoons today have to be P.C. Example, The cookie monster can’t over indulge in cookies, he has to balance his diet with vegies… Weak…
“Bad guys” have to be more “talorant” to other people’s differences.
Cobra Commander would be a wet blanket today.
And as for “Loony Tunes” “Tom and Jerry” The racial issues in those programs simply would not fly today. Making for crappy cartoons, as you pointed out the miscarage called “SpongeBob SquarePants” My crap has a better story line than that show. Perhaps DVD sales will show the need for the classic style and a need to fill the hole.
Good Rant, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

  2. I used to hate Spongebob too, but after my 5 year old swore by him I sat down and really watched an episode, freaking hilarious

  3. […] The current state of children’s toys and cartoons really bothers me. Maybe its because of my age and the fact that, I myself have started thinking about having kids. But whatever the reason is that has brought on this train of though, the idea of exposing my own offspring or any children to the current state of toys and cartoons that are at the store and on TV right now makes me sick to my stomach. I have talked about this in the past. […]
